Reliance Jio Launch: Trai Meets Telecom Operators Over Interconnect Issues

The Indian telecom controller on Friday met administration suppliers - Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular - to talk about the issue of versatile system interconnection among different players, however supposedly banned Cellular Operators' Association of India's (COAI) authorities from taking an interest in the meeting.

After the meeting with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai), Reliance Jio Infocomm Board Member Mahendra Nahata told correspondents: "This is battle of equity for the Indian client. This is not about Jio client, Idea client, Voda client or Airtel client."

"We have not requested that anybody leave the meeting. We recently said that the meeting ought to be gone to by the individuals who have been welcomed by the Trai," he included.

"COAI has been kept out of the Trai meeting at the request of Reliance Jio, and Trai assented to their interest in a remarkable way," said Rajan S. Mathews, Director General, COAI.

Prior Jio had said the purposes of interconnection gave by different administrators were not adequate.
